2025-11-20 | Razia Barsatie at Auction of Surinamese art at CBK Zuidoost
A work by our fellow Razia Barsatie will be auctioned at a special Surinamese art auction at CBK Zuidoost.
On November 22nd, a special auction will take place at CBK Zuidoost. The auction features eleven artworks by artists with Surinamese roots, which are also featured in the special birthday calendar featuring Surinamese art. This calendar is published by the Suriname Year Calendar Foundation. Proceeds from the calendar will go towards art education for children in Suriname.
In exchange for a spot on this unique birthday calendar, the artists of Surinamese origin donated the artwork, under the motto "Giving Back"—giving something back to the community in their country of origin. The works will be sold, with proceeds also going to art education. Several pieces have already been sold, and the remaining artwork will be auctioned off, organized by board member Nellie Bakboord in collaboration with CBK Zuidoost.
The auctioneer is art connoisseur and lover Pim Deul.
